Laura at first tried to be the next guitar hero when she got hooked to the thundering sound of metal, but turned out to actually suck at playing guitar and to be a way better singer. That’s why she eventually ended up singing in Shadowrise. Before Shadowrise she sung in a few other bands and projects and participated in choir/backing and occasionally doing some lead vocals for The Theater Equation choir – Ayreon, Kristoffer Gildenlöw (ex Pain of Salvation) and Robby Valentine. During the journey to be a better singer she amongst others took vocal lessons from Marcela Bovio (Stream of Passion) and Kevin Quilligan (Apophis) at the Metal Factory. Here she also took classes from teachers active in Within Temptation, Epica, Textures and Aborted. In Shadowrise Laura puts her love for the theatrical aspect of music and let you hear every aspect of her voice.
